
Down Town Tram: The best way to get around Kumamoto if you haven't got your own transportation is by romendensha (tram). Although at 130yen($1.62AUD) a ride it is not exactly cheap once you start making a number of small trips. I noticed that a lot of the locals got around the city on bicycle which is another good way to get around smaller Japanese cities and towns.
This particular tram is the one which we caught from the Kumamoto Castle to Suizenji-koen (garden).
