Town in the Valley: Well at last something worth seeing, the view of Kobayashi city from the cow farm was pretty good. From the photo you can see that Kobayashi city is probably one of the least densely populated cities in Japan (although I have not been to Hokkaido where there is even more space).
If you noticed something like a concrete gutter winding its way down the mountainside. It is not a gutter. It is one of those slides where you sit on top of a plastic sleigh with wheels underneath it and hold brake lever in your hand pretend to be bob sleighing. Unfortunately it was not operating on the day we were there (just like the cows), so I didn't get to try it out. It probably would have been expensive anyway.
