Visiting Grandma: Since it was New Years Eve we decided that we should visit Ritsuko's Grandmother. She lived in an old house, but that made it more interesting, because the older the house the less westernised it is. On this day Ritsuko's Grandmother was sick and resting in bed.
Ritsuko's uncle was there and he prepared some food for all of us and we spoke about Australia. He was very nice to me, I made a comment about how nice the soy sauce was compared with what we can get in Australia and gave me a bottle of soy sauce worth 5,000yen (70AUD)! Now when Japanese people come to my house I always try to serve them the best too.
