A photo of a lake in the foreground and mountains in the background and a low sunshine

Mountain Sunset: Kirishima-Yaku National Park straddles the border of two prefectures Miyazaki-ken and Kagoshima-ken. The previous three photos were taken in Miyazaki-ken this photo was taken in Kagoshima-ken.

There were a number interesting things to take photos of on the Kagoshima-ken side of the park, but the road was narrow and the traffic was heavy since it was the New Year's holidays. When we finally found a car park that had some space the sun was getting low, however I did get a few nice shots one of which is the photo above.

Ritsuko has another brother who lived near Nagoya (at that time), when we got back to Ritsuko's parents house he phoned and told Ritsuko of all the places he wanted to bring us when we arrived at his place. The next day Ritsuko and I would be travelling around 1000km by train to get to there.

That evening we said to farewell to Ritsuko's brother and his family who were staying at Ritsuko's parents as they had to go back to their house to start work and school the next day, they lived about 2hrs drive away from Ritsuko's parents.
