The Golden Temple: After visiting the commercialised shrine Ritsuko's brother thought of a better place to take us except it was at the other side of Kyoto. When we eventually got there and it was getting a bit dark, but we still we had enough time to get a few photos of Kinkaku-ji. I really think that the weather an lighting were just perfect when we arrived.
Kinkaku-ji means "Golden Temple", but originally it was built as a retirement villa by the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, after his death his son converted it to a temple.1
