Me and me mate: We went back on the JR Yamanote Loop line and the got off at Shibuya and I had my photo (see above) with the Famous "Hachiko" statue. I think that the people in the back ground were doing a weather report.
Hachiko was a real dog (a white furred Akita) who once lived near the Shibuya railway station. Each day he would come to the railway station to meet his owner when he was coming home from work. One day his owner died in of a stroke at work. For a few years after Hachiko still came to the station looking his owner, until he died. This story struck a cord the with the locals so they had a statue erected of Hachiko.1
The story of Hachiko also struck a cord with me and I would say when ever I faced difficulties "I'm Hachiko I never give up".
We went to an Indian restaurant for lunch. Indian is the most common foreign food in Japan (apart from fast food like KFC and McDonalds)2. Indian food in Japan is pretty mild compared to Indian food elsewhere3. The deal for lunch time was 1000yen ($12.50AUD) all you can eat, which included free water and tea. I made the mistake of ordering a Fanta which cost 400yen ($5AUD) so I learnt not to order soft drinks in restaurants4.
Note: Normally Hachiko does not wear a bandanna, for some unknow reason he had one on that day, probably some Yanquis having fun!
