A photo of a temple with a lot of snow on it, taken from the Tokyo Tower.

Snow Covered Temple: After we spent a good while (since we wanted to get our monies worth) taking in the view of Tokyo from the middle level platform and we decided not pay the extra to go up to the top.

In the photo above you can see the Zojo-ji temple which was near the Tower. This temple was the same one where they broadcast the cross over to the millennium for the Japan bit (remember how when we changed from 1999 to 2000 how on TV they broadcast live the change over at every time zone?)

Once we came back down from the tower we found a phone booth and phoned a guy whos phone number I had received from my Pastor back in Perth. We had a good chat on the phone, but unfortunately we couldn't meet because he was 90km away (Tokyo is huge place), and we had to leave early for Osaka the next day.

After that we went and had diner at Lotteria1 (a Japanese fast food chain serving similar food to McDonald's)in Shinjuku.

The next 2 pages show some panoramic pictures which I've put together. I hope this gives you just a taste of how huge Tokyo is. At this time Tokyo was the biggest city in the world. 2
