Day 17 - 13/01/1998: A Reminder of Home: On this day we stayed in Kobayashi. As I was looking around I found a truck with a Kangaroo on it as can been seen in the photo above. However this is not the most famous Kangaroo logo bearing Japanese company, but unfortunately I have not gotten a photo of a Seino (I hope they got permission from QANTAS) truck even after three trips.
We went to the travel agent book a flight from Kagoshima airport back to Fukuoka, because we really didn't want to catch the Sea Side Liner for the fourth time!
It true Japanese efficiency we were issued with the boarding pass as soon as we paid for the ticket. In true Japanese illogicality there are few buses to Kagoshima airport from Kobayashi even though there is a regular bus service to the much further away (and therefore more expensive bus fare) Miyazaki airport. Just because Miyazaki airport is the same prefecture. Anyway we ended up asking Ritsuko's dad to give us a ride.
For the first time on this trip I started feeling home sick, maybe it was because I of seeing a Kangaroo logo?
