Insane Tasmanian Senator Simultaneously Hero and Loser

Without technically doing anything
It's probably really good to point out that there is no proof that Senator Harradine is actually insane. That was just put there as a sort of joke, to get your attention. Of course, I'm yet to see any proof that he isn't insane.
For our many international viewers, Harradine is a Senator in Australia's Senate. The Senate is called the "upper house" because it is next to the lower house but painted red. You can get some equally fun facts at some kind of government website. I'm considering putting one on the boycott page. When I say "I" I really mean "us".

When a Hero Comes Along

Some people will assume that Senator Harradine was a hero when he blocked Australia's Goods and Services Tax. That is not true. As any decent child-hating Capitalist will know, the GST is good because it systematically removes poor people by making food too expensive to buy. This is balanced by a system of income tax reductions that enhance the ability of rich people to buy things they don't need from countries other than Australia, like Casinons. Or Management. This ensures that Australia remains at the fore-front of Economic Development with the highest Current Account Deficit manageable.
So, How is Harradine a hero? Simple - he single handedly made the entire voting population of Australia believe he was the only politician in the Senate. Pretty impressive. Oh, he also managed to convince the ruling Government to table an Internet Censorship bill. That can only be a good thing.

To Fight and Be Strong (I'm a Loser Baby)

So, as you might expect, Harradine is a loser for the simple reason that he rejected the GST. Without the GST, Australia is lost. How can we possibly have a Budget Surplus without a 10% blanket tax? Sure, one is forecast this year (even deducting the sale of Telstra). But really, that's quite irrelevant. The GST will only make Australia a happier, more pleasant place to live - by consolidating money into the rich upper middle class. Long live the Patriachy!
